The fishing class – Listening

Posted by Jojolastiko | Jojo's realisations | Wednesday 26 May 2010 9:15 am

One of my day to day task is to monitor online conversations (Buzz Monitoring)… The idea is simply to understand what people are talking about online and to quantify it. So in order to illustrate what I do, I asked Manu to draw this scene. Hope you will find it clear.

Illustrator: Manu Martin/Gorobei

Conceptor: JojoLastiko/Johary Rafidison

Andreaco Francesco

So Andreaco is based in Italy and I asked him to introduce himself:

“I’m strongly influenced by the Japanese art scene from the 80′s\90′s.
I like artists like Katsuhiro Otomo (akira),Tsutomu Takahashi (Jirashin),Mitsuru Adachi (Tacchi,H2…),but most of all i’m influenced by the art of Akira Yasuda,CRMK,Ikeno,Kinu Nishiumura, all artists that worked and works for Capcom videogame japanese company. Also Shunya Yamashita is very good in fact of drawing female characters!

In fact i’m mainly a character designer/concept artist.
I’m not a pro,but i have experience with the 2d game industry,in wich i worked as character designer for some “in game” graphics, and i also work as illustrator for children’s books, books, comics etc etc….

I’m interested in private projects yes,but at the moment i accept only payed works,i don’t have enough time for “free” works.
If i should draw a comic story,i’d like for sure sport based stories, also fighting based stories or weird funny/stuff would be good.As a drawer any genre is good afterall.Maybe i wouldn’t like to draw YAOI stuff XDD.”

Please note that his work can be seen here and that it’s definitely worth looking.

Digital Pop-Up Book for iPad

This is a great trailer from Tako Games. It presents a unique adaptation of Pilgrim’s Progress for both children and parents. The interactive nature of this app will provide a fun and meaningful time to read and interact with the illustrations. Definitely worth watching.

Manu Martin / Gorobei

Posted by Jojolastiko | Illustrators | Saturday 22 May 2010 11:48 pm

Manu is an illustrator based in the south of France and he’s the very first illustrator that I contacted to work on Tsinghy. He is still trying to get his story published – the quality of his work will definitely help him out! Currently working as a freelancer for Ankama, Manu will be happy to do some illustrations during his spare time, so feel free to contact him for your projects.

By the way it is a real pleasure to work with him.

The Fishing class – Introduction

Posted by Jojolastiko | Jojo's realisations | Wednesday 19 May 2010 9:06 pm

If you work in marketing, advertising or consultancy, how often have you looked for the right picture to illustrate your thoughts? In my case, I do not count anymore.

This is why I asked Manu to draw some illustrations to explain what I do.

To do so, I came up with a simple story called “the fishing class”. Through the metaphor of “how to catch a fish”, I am introducing what I do. This is really helpful since I cannot find better pictures to describe what I have in mind.

Hope you will find my illustrations clear and this will convince you to get the services of an illustrator.

Apple – iPad – Iron Man

I am not a big Apple fan but as a Comic/Manga reader, it’s easy to see how our reading experience can be changed and improve with the Ipad. I do believe that this is the start of a really positive evolution.

Hello world!!

I could not change the title of this post.

It illustrates my state of mind and the hope that I have for this project.

As a first post, I have the obligation to present Manu Martin / Gorobei. He is the one who did all the illustrations for Tsinghy and the first to believe in this project.  Based in France, Manu is extremely talented and he is always keen to work on new projects.

Please have a look into his website and do not hesitate to contact him if you need illustrations.
